Praia Forno and the cove.
Back from a weekend of plundering in Buzios flush with booty. Well maybe not booty but Witzy definitely has some sort of rash. The road trip out to Buzios is about 100 miles, the majority of which is very scenic, albeit harrowing to drive. Brazilians seem to leave their famous laidback demeanor by the roadside as soon as they get behind the wheel. Add to that sparsely paved roads, throw in the occasional Policia Federal check point (which at one point included a full search of the vehicle and “definite cupping”) and your editors were none too pleased to arrive in Buzios. Unfortunately I was a little lax with the camera this weekend so the majority of pictures posted are of our potential site. We’ve staked out a potential spot in front of the last undeveloped beach in Buzios called Praia Forno. Buzios is an amoeba-like peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean. Laced with hilly terrain, numerous beaches, coves, harbors and inlets, there is something for everyone in Buzios. The downtown centro area of Rua das Pedras is teaming with activity from the highest noon day sun until the wee hours of the morning. It’s the perfect mix of international high season tourism and rustic brazilian fishing village. I honestly can’t explain it. Stay tuned to the site for more insightful narrative.

one can only imagine the source of witzy’s rash… looks like somebody in buzios earned $5 the hard way.
